As of the 2016-2017 school year, Nevada's schools were home to over 75,000 English language learners. Every bit of the 2014-2015 school year, the almost common five languages spoken by ELLs in Nevada were Spanish, Filipino, Tagalog, Chinese, and Vietnamese. Nevada is a member of WIDA (World-Class Instructional Blueprint and Assessment). WIDA is a consortium of states dedicated to the design and implementation of high standards and equitable educational opportunities for English language language learners which offers states programming for identifying and annually assessing the English linguistic communication development of its English learners.

Nevada State Teaching Association

Nevada State Didactics Clan is a National Pedagogy Association State Chapter that regularly lobbies legislators for the resource schools need, campaigns for college professional standards for the educational activity profession, and files legal actions to protect bookish freedom and the rights of school employees.

Professional Language Association of Nevada (PLAN)

The mission of PLAN is:

  1. To stimulate the interest of all peoples everywhere in the learning and preserving of skills in earth languages;
  2. To foster word and interchange of ideas relative to the study and teaching of  languages;
  3. To recognize excellence in the written report and teaching of world languages through participation in the activities of the Clan;
  4. To support language instructors at all levels (master, secondary, mail-secondary) by providing resources and establishing relationships with other educators;
  5. To join with affiliate organizations at state, regional and national levels in advocating for the learning of earth languages.

Nevada PEP

The mission of Nevada PEP is to increase the opportunities for home, community and school success for children with disabilities, including those who are at take chances or who have serious emotional disturbances, their families and their service providers, through pedagogy, encouragement and empowerment activities.

Nevada: Seal of Biliteracy

Nevada adopted the Seal of Biliteracy in 2015. The Seal of Biliteracy is an honour given by a schoolhouse, district, or state in recognition of students who have studied and attained proficiency in two or more languages by high school graduation.
